Recession Dodge To Victory means a lot of different things to me and when I enthuse about it, the title alone attracts a bemused sort of attention. So what’s with the name?

It came about when I first received news about getting my first job in Japan when I left the UK to travel abroad. Of course, it wasn’t really much of a dodge considering the Japanese recession is arguably worse but the change of scenery was a new world for me. With all the to-ing and fro-ing I needed something to keep me grounded in the midst of an entirely foreign culture.

So, in a mundane sense you could say it’s a place where I keep stuff: pictures I’ve found and want to keep and web favourites and funnies that I visit regularly, all in one place. It’s also a place where I store the good things I’ve found online so that I don’t forget about them, from humourous videos to inspirational rants or even my coping mechanisms when I need some hope when I fail to dodge the recession.

But to me it’s more than just an organisational tool. Recession Dodge to Victory is a memory bank. It’s the remains of my day, whether I’m updating stuff on the site or going through memories past. It is a well of strength where I can be creative and record others’ creativity.

Most of all though, Recession Dodge To Victory is a place where I can share all of these things for readers like you in the hope that what I’ve learned is also applicable to you.
